Compensation for elbow injuries

Elbow valuations focus on functional impairment, surgery, permanent disability and how fully the injury resolves.

01

Severely disabling elbow injury

£47,810 to £66,920

For the most serious elbow injuries with marked and lasting functional loss.

02

Less severe elbow injury

£19,100 to £39,070

There is continuing impairment, but not major surgery or the level of disability in the highest bracket.

03

Moderate or minor elbow injury

Up to £15,370

Includes simple fractures, lacerations and tennis elbow without permanent damage or impaired function.

This is guidance, not a quote. The bracket is only one part of a valuation. Medical evidence, recovery, financial losses, liability and the effect on your life must all be considered.

Understanding the range

What can affect elbow injury compensation?

The brackets extend from up to £15,370 for moderate or minor injury to £47,810-£66,920 for a severely disabling elbow injury. The diagnosis is only the starting point: the evidence must show the recovery period and the effect the injury has had on the individual.

01

Severity, treatment and recovery

Elbow valuations focus on functional impairment, surgery, permanent disability and how fully the injury resolves.

02

Daily life and independence

Pain, movement, sleep, work, hobbies, care needs and loss of independence can all influence where an injury falls within a guideline range.

03

Medical and financial evidence

Independent medical evidence helps establish prognosis. Payslips, receipts, care records and expert evidence may support financial losses assessed separately from the injury award.
